Take a look around to see what’s happening in Room E133 this year!
Enjoy your snow day!
**Donuts with Dad will be rescheduled in March.
February has been quite the busy month in our classroom.
On February 3rd, we celebrated the 100th day of school. Your child wore their cape to each Kindergarten classroom where they participated in activities involving the number 100. The students had a blast exercising 100 times, stacking 100 cups, making a 100 piece trail mix, etc. They also licked a lollipop 100 times. Our day was so much fun. I enjoyed watching each student share their cape, as well. Now the countdown til summer begins!
Yesterday, we celebrated Valentine’s Day in our classroom. The Valentine card boxes that your child created turned out great. Everyone’s box was so unique. The students were so excited to share their Valentine cards with their friends. We also created a bar graph with candy hearts.
It is truly a joy to teach your children,
P.S. Monday, February 16th (President’s Day) is a normal school day. It is a snow make-up day.
Happy New Year! I hope you and your Kindergarten student had a wonderful Winter Break. We have had a great few weeks since coming back from break. Everyone has been excited and ready to learn in the classroom!
In Language Arts, we have been working hard on our reading skills. The students have learned many sight words this year that have helped them become good readers. I am so proud of all the progress they have made since August. Please encourage your child to read to you each night!
In Math, we have been learning to tell time to the hour! Yesterday, your child brought home a paper plate clock to practice telling time. They have also learned how to read a digital clock. Please ask your child to use their clock to show you how they can tell time to the hour.
In Social Studies, we have been learning about Martin Luther King Jr. and his impact on the world. Monday, January 19th, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. BGE students do not have school on Monday. Enjoy your three day weekend. See you Tuesday!
P.S. Parent/Teacher Conference are coming up again, in February.
As the weather gets colder, please remember to have your child wear a winter coat. If it is too cold outside, we usually have inside recess!
