Welcome 2015-2016 Students!

Dear parents,

Welcome to Kindergarten in Room E133. I am very excited to teach your children this year. We are off to a great start! We have enjoyed the past 8 days and we can’t wait for the rest of the year.

In math, we are learning positional words such as between, under, on top of, beside, etc. Ask your child about the Pete the Cat: Wheels On The Bus book we read and how we used Pete to help us learn those words!

This week, we have been learning the nursery rhyme, “Humpty Dumpty.” We are practicing pointing to each word as we recite the nursery rhyme. Ask your child to recite it for you at home.

In Social Studies, we have been learning school rules and how to be a good citizen. We read the books “No, David,” and “David Goes to School” to help teach us appropriate behavior at school. The students enjoyed sorting the good choices and bad choices that David makes in each book.

Please continue having your child practice writing their first and last name.
